DLS is developing, deploying, and evaluating a Curriculum Customization Service that transforms traditional print-based materials into concept-driven, interactive teachers’ guides. These online guides support curriculum planning and implementation, are customizable and extensible to meet local needs, and provide targeted online professional development.
Digital Library for Earth System Education
Since 1999, Digital Learning Sciences has provided the technical infrastructure and other essential services for the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE). DLS is a recognized leader in standards-based education, metadata framework development, and best practices for educational digital libraries.

DLS develops and supports the technology that enables OpenSky to curate UCAR/NCAR scholarship.
NSDL Science Literacy Maps
Working with Project 2061 at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, we developed a service to support the creation of online science literacy maps. These maps are aligned with the National Science Education Standards (NSES) and allow educators to explore research-based scientific concepts and find resources to guide teaching of those concepts.
